 Jesus is the light (God's revelation) to the world, he took on flesh and was eye witnessed by apostles for all mankind who are all sinful.

 Jesus is the advocate to all mankind who forgives the sins and gives eternal life to all who believe in Him, some have left the apostles and denied Jesus is the Christ.

All who believe in Jesus are God's children and rendered righteous in God's eyes, anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus remains in their sin and is of the devil.

 The test to see if a spirit  is from God is if he believes that Jesus has come in the flesh we, are to love others because God first loved us (sending us Jesus).

 All who believe in Jesus overcome this world and this letter is written so all believers in Jesus will know that they have eternal life.

 John writes Gaius to warn him about  Diotrephes who  does not accept John's teachings  (apostolic doctrine) and wrongly kicks people out of the church, John promotes  Demetrius who holds to the apostles testimony.  

 Jude warns the called about unbelievers creeping into their congregation for personal gain and influencing the church, he reminds them with examples from scripture how God ultimately judges the wicked, and shows mercy to his own.
