 The sins and treachery of Judah are detailed, the corpses of the kings will rot without honor, the priests and prophets claim the Law with deceit, God's sorrowful harvest is past due.

The people of Judah have broken their covenant with God and worshiped idols, they have conspired to kill Jeremiah, therefore God will bring disaster upon them.

The Lord will raise up another powerful nation to destroy Babylon because she caused calamity to God's beloved nation Israel,  Babylon’s thick wall will be leveled and her high gates set on fire.

The fall of Jerusalem is told under king Zedekiah, he did evil in the sight of the Lord this is Jeremiah's grandson.  Riblah from Babylon killed his sons in front of his eyes and took all the valuables from the temple to Babylon.

  Isaiah wrote a message to the people of Israel and others regarding two kings of Israel who didn't trust God, to remind the people that God will ultimately deliver them through His warrior servant/king to come.

  Jeremiah laments over the sins of Zion (Jerusalem) which has kindled the wrath of God as some of the horrors of the siege are described,  ultimately the prophet hopes in the refuge of God's mercy.
