 The apostle Paul gives thanks to Corinthian believers, he then appeals for unity in Jesus, the world's wisdom and Gods's wisdom are contrasted, the world's wisdom sees Jesus crucified as folly. 

 God's wisdom (Jesus Christ crucified) is revealed by the Spirit this is contrasted with human wisdom which cannot perceive this and considers revelation foolish.

 The Corinthian church is divided therefore worldly, both Paul and Apollos are doing God's work building God's temple (you the church).

 Apostles are specially ordained by God and some Corinthian believers have become arrogant usurping the apostles authority, God will judge all. 

Some people are proudly involved in perverse sexual immorallity, a little yeast leavens all the dough, this is not to be tolerated in the church.

 Any lawsuit between believers proves failure of both,  abstain from all sexual immorality, the body is God's temple a member of Christ Himself.

 Wives are sexually subject  to husbands and husbands to wives, to marry is OK to remain single is better, the entire purpose either way is to best  serve the Lord.

God desires sincere motives, do everything including eating or not eating meat sacrificed to idols in a manner that is best for weaker brother.

 Paul has great liberties as an apostle and  foregoes many given to him from God, he bypasses all his liberties for the sake of the gospel.

 Beware, God demonstrated His character in judging Israel, flee idolatry and  put the interest of one's neighbor above one's own interest.

 Christ is the authority to men, men are the authority to women,  the Lord's supper is sacred and needs to be treated with reverence, or God will judge.

 All believers are part of one body and are given different gifts for each other,  all parts of the body of the church are needed and make up the body of Christ 

 Love is the most important quality of the believer, it looks out for others and will be with us eternally.

 The gift of tongues should be treated orderly and properly for the purpose of unbelievers coming to Christ, all believers should be a part of the body and edify each other.  

 All the apostles and many others are eye witnesses to the risen Christ, He was the first resurrected and all believers will one day receive a new resurrected imperishable body.

 I (Paul) ,Timothy and Apollos should  come to visit soon, be on alert and stand firm in the faith.

 Paul argues that man's character is depraved with or without the law and that trading this  sin nature inherited from Adam for Christ's  righteousness  by imputation  is the best deal ever, and the only truth worth living for. 

 Paul writes to comfort Corinthian believers, he explains his not being able to come to them and defends himself  based on revelation not human wisdom.

 Paul defends his first letter as written in love to forgive and comfort those sorrowed by it, he defends his desicion to travel to Macedonia as furthering the gospel.

 Paul defends himself as an apostle, a minister of the new covenant from which unveils the words of Moses (law).

 Apostles are the eye witnesses who have seen the light (revelation) of God in the face of Jesus, apostles carry the gospel, the eternal truth, this world is decaying.

 This body is a temporary dwelling place all in Christ have received a new nature and we are to live accordingly one day to be judged by Christ.

Apostles endure hardships for the cause of Christ this is a noble cause which benefits the Corinthian believers, believers and unbelievers should not be joined together.

 Paul cares deeply for the Corinthians, he refers to his previous letter that caused a good sorrow unto repentance and to Titus' visit.

 Live gererously and graciously toward one another just like Jesus who became poor for all of our sakes, and show this love to Titus.

 The Corinthians can prove their obedience by clinging to the confession of the gospel of Christ and for generously supplying for the needs of the saints.

 Paul's authority as an apostle (meek in presense and mighty in writing) is a gift from God all should boast only in Christ not compare and elevate each other.

 Paul endured many hardships as an authorized apostle motivated by love of the Corinthian believers, Paul boasts only in Christ,  beware of boastful false apostles.  

 Paul has a thorn of the flesh so he doesn't exalt himself, He fears there will be jealousy and strife when he visits which will be a humiliation to him.

 Test yourself,  for Christ lives within you so Paul will build up not tear down when he comes to visit for the third time.

    Paul responds to divisions in the Corinthian church based on misinterpretations of his teachings  that kingdom rewards are not evident  through gifts and success now ,  but that  this is an age of suffering humbly for the gospel for future kingdom rewards.   

   Paul is being accused of being two faced therefore under a curse by not requiring  circumcision for Galatians believers, Paul argues his gospel of imputed righteousness is the  point of the Law fulfilled in Christ.
